Rooted in culture,
driven by purpose.

As a Black woman of Jamaican and Trinidadian descent, I navigate multiple identities, bringing an intersectional lens to everything I do. This allows me to connect deeply with clients and offer guidance that considers the complexities of their stories and visions.

Beyond my coaching and editorial work, I’m dedicated to giving back—whether through celebrating Black business, sharing Caribbean history tidbits, or supporting students in need.

Sharing authentically has been an honour, and I look forward to continuing these conversations to ensure knowledge is passed forward.

Staying Connected
& Giving Back

At Indira Candle Co., community has always been at the heart of what we do. What started as creating light through candles has grown into creating light through education with our Phoenix Futures initiative. Through this giveback, we helped over 100 students start the school year feeling prepared and supported because confidence in the classroom begins with having access to the right tools.

This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to keep rising together.

Getting my Jamaican citizenship and passport was about staying connected to my roots and recognizing the privilege of being able to pour back into CARICOM as a citizen. A lot of people in the diaspora don’t realize they’re eligible, and that means leaving opportunities on the table. Being a citizen isn’t about easier travel; it’s about belonging and contributing to the region with intention.

Working as a developmental editor at WritersBlok, a professional ghostwriting agency has been both inspiring and transformative.

Being part of an all-women-of-colour team has deepened my understanding of storytelling, strengthened my editorial skills, and given me a space to grow with collaboration. Learning from, and supporting each other has not only made me a stronger editor but, shaped my approach as an entrepreneur, showing me firsthand the impact of amplifying diverse voices.

I had the opportunity to speak with ByBlacks to discuss the evolution of Toronto Carnival—a conversation that’s close to my heart.

We explored the significance of Carnival’s history and its continued impact on our identities.
