Waiting in Readiness
Living in harmony with your purpose means trusting the timing of your journey. Beyoncé finally winning Album of the Year at the Grammys wasn’t just a long-overdue recognition, it was proof of my theory for 2025: it’s time for the humble and hardworking to shine. For years, she created culture-shifting albums that somehow didn’t take home the top prize. As we often hear, delayed doesn’t mean denied. Her moment arrived, and when it did, there was no questioning that she deserved it.
This moment reaffirmed a truth I think we all need to embrace: success requires waiting in readiness. My advice is not to wait in frustration, resentment, or doubt, but wait in preparation—stay disciplined, refine your craft, and keep faith that when the time is right, the doors will open.
Maybe you’ve been creating for years, putting in the effort, wondering when your moment will come. I understand that it’s tough to see others receive recognition while you’re in the waiting phase. That’s where the real test happens. Will you stay ready even when no one is watching?
Take Wadicks, for example, who has been singing for YEARS. His talent didn’t suddenly appear when Beat Rum Bad came out; he was consistent, and now people are listening. The same goes for Yung Bredda. His rise has been remarkable, but it didn’t happen overnight. These artists have been grinding.
The frustrating reality is that we often have to wait for large institutions, gatekeepers, or a particular social class to determine our worth. That can feel unfair and exhausting. That’s why waiting in readiness is so crucial. When they finally catch up, you’ll already be where you need to be, fully prepared for the moment you deserve.
So, if you’re in the waiting phase right now, don’t give up. Keep creating. Keep refining your craft. Keep showing up for yourself. In addition to talent, success is about patience and timing. Your time is coming, and when it does, you won’t just be ready—you’ll be an undeniable force.
